Research on CMC and social media is carried out by people in various roles and academic disciplines across Indiana University, as well as by scholars affiliated with IU.
Fellows are presently working and/or studying at IU; they include faculty, students, Center staff, and other scholars working at or visiting IU at the present time. Center Fellows represent 11 different units: Anthropology, Business, Communication and Culture, Education, Informatics, Information Science, Instructional Systems Technology, Journalism, Linguistics, Second Language Studies, Spanish and Portuguese, and Telecommunications.1
Affiliates are CMC scholars who have a connection to IU but are located at other institutions. They include former IU students, former faculty, former visiting scholars, and non-IU scholars who collaborate with Center Fellows. Affiliates are located in 19 countries (Canada, China, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, Germany, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Wales, and the US) and include a number of internationally-known researchers.
